Easy Mummy Craft For Kids

Easy Mummy Craft For Kids

It’s officially Halloween week, which means it’s time to double-down on the Halloween fun! We’ve made our fair share of Halloween treats, so I thought it would be fun to work in a craft project that was equal parts simple and spooky.

This easy mummy craft was perfect for a Sunday afternoon.  The kids worked on their mummies on the living room floor while we all watched Hocus Pocus together as a family.  A cool breeze was blowing through the open windows, a fall-scented candle was burning…it was magical!

If you are looking for a last minute craft project that will keep your kids busy for a little while, this easy mummy craft is for you!  It only requires brown craft paper, glue, and toilet paper – simple enougn, right?

I told the kids to make a “mummy face”.  So, in case you were wondering, this is what mummies look like!

There really isn’t much to this craft, which is what makes it so simple!  Have your kiddo lie down on the craft paper so that you can trace their body outline.

Once the outline is made, use glue and toilet paper to create your mummy.  Don’t be too concerned if the toilet paper goes over the outline.  Once you are done applying toilet paper, go around the outline with scissors to trim up any loose ends and make the overall appearance a bit more tidy.

We started this project using glue sticks, but found that standard Elmer’s washable glue worked best.

It was my initial concern that this project was going to be a little too wasteful.  However, it turns out that we didn’t even go through half a roll of toilet paper between the two mummies.  Not too bad for a couple of hours of fun!
