Friday Five: Skin Care

Friday Five: Skin Care

Happy Friday!! Today’s Friday Five is all about skin care!

Skin care is definitely considered a self care necessity for me.  Not only do I think it’s important to take care of my skin, but the whole process just makes me feel good.

I loosely follow Caroline Hirons’ routine.  By loosely I mean I would follow it completley if I paid more attention to when I was going to run out of something and/or if I was in a little more of a hurry to replace my items. I love Caroline and follow her on all the social media’s.

Skin care can be super duper expensive, which is why I am not all that quick to replace items when I run out.

Today’s Friday Five is of five skin care items I either have purchased multiple times or will repurchase when I run out.

MakeUp Eraser

I received the MakeUp Eraser as a Christmas gift.  Grant bought it based on the recommendation of the woman at the counter.  I’ll admit I was skeptical.

I cannot explain the science behind this cloth, but it really does a great job of removing all makeup, even my eye makeup!

Full disclosure: this is not the first thing I reach for to remove my make up (that would be #5 on this list), but it is perfect for traveling or to toss in a gym bag to remove makeup before a workout.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel is my go-to daytime moisturizer.  I just love how it feels on my skin. It smells fresh & clean – love it.

Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant

Paula’s Choice is one of my favorite acid toners for my face.  I have tried a handful of others and this one is the biggest bang for the buck I am willing to spend.

I apply after I have removed my makeup and washed my face then follow up with a spritz to neutralize the acid.

Acure Vitamin C Sunset Serum

I bought Acure Vitamin C Sunset Serum on a whim one day and have been really pleased with it.  I struggle with dull skin, so I wanted something that would help brighten me up.

It is super thick, so you don’t need much each night.  I sort of feel like a greased up chicken when I apply it, but by morning it has all soaked in.

The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter is my absolute favorite way to remove my makeup.  It feels so wonderful on my skin.

Scoop a tiny bit out with your finger, then rub it all over your face.  You don’t need much.  Really work it in over your eyes and anywhere else you have a lot of makeup.  You do not need to get your face wet prior to massaging it into the skin.

Once the cleansing butter has been completely worked onto your face, take a warm/hot, wet washcloth and wipe it off.  Nothing feels better – NOTHING!
