Easy Popsicle Recipes: The Perfect Summer Snack

Easy Popsicle Recipes: The Perfect Summer Snack

When you think about the “perfect summer snack,” what is the first thing that comes to mind?  Popsicles!  My kids LOVE popsicles!  They love store bought popsicles (of course!), but they have really been loving the popsicles we make at home.  We have been trying different flavor combinations to see what works and what doesn’t (It’s a real think-tank over here).  I thought it would be fun to post an Easy Popsicle Recipe roundup.

Some of these easy popsicle recipes we have tried and loved, while others are on our list to try.  I’ll be sure to note which ones we have tried and which ones we haven’t.

For complete transparency, we have absolutely had our fair share of gross popsicles.  We aren’t “healthy popsicle” people – if it involves plain greek yogurt, we are out.  It reminds me of that episode of Full House where Michelle was trying to earn her honeybee badge and kept using gross combinations in her popsicles.  Ah, the 90s =)

Anyway, I have not listed any recipes that we have tried and not liked.  These recipes have either been taste-tested by me and my crew, or involves ingredients we will probably like.

You can buy popsicle molds like this or this

We had popsicle molds at one point, but I have no idea where they are now.  I happened to have Dixie cups and wooden popsicle sticks at home, so we used those.  They didn’t look quite as fancy, but worked like a charm!

You will also need a blender of some kind.

My Favorite Popsicle Recipes

Easy Popsicle Recipes

These Dark Chocolate Covered Kiwi Pops from Recipe Aroma were one of our favorites.  I’m not sure if popsicle traditionalists would count these as true popsicles, but they are frozen and on a stick, so they count as a popsicle in this house.

This is truly an easy popsicle recipe – only 2 ingredients!

We took this one further and used bananas too.

Fruit Popsicles

Cookie Dough Popsicles from Living On Grace were another favorite.  It was fun to have an alternative to a fruity flavor.  My kids called these the “vanilla popsicles” (I may or may not have added too much vanilla), but they request these all the time now.

We LOVED this 3 Ingredient Peach Sorbet from Ahead of Thyme.  I think it would make the perfect popsicle.  We ate it with a spoon as sorbet, but the consistency was perfect for a fresh summer treat on a stick.

Peach Sorbet

We haven’t tried these Healthy DIY Mango Popsicles from 4everfeedingmyface yet, but they are next on our list.  I think my kids will really like these.  They seem like they will be sweet enough, but still fresh.  I usually like anything with coconut.

I’ll keep you posted!

We haven’t tried these Berry Banana Popsicles from Playful Kale yet either, however I know my kids will love them (minus the spinach – they trust nothing green).  We are berry & banana fanatics over here, so these will definitely fit the bill.

When in Doubt, Add Chocolate!

Add a little extra pizazz to any of these easy popsicle recipes by dipping the finished product in chocolate.  It is sure to be a crowd pleaser!
