A super simple, super cute St. Patrick’s Day treat your whole family can (and will) enjoy! This copycat shamrock shake is perfect for kids, but also good for adults (especially if you add the booze!). 

You know I love a good theme!  I love finding reasons to celebrate and have fun with my family.  With St. Patrick’s Day quickly approaching I was on the hunt to find the perfect little something to make for my kiddos.  I’ll be honest, St. Patrick’s Day isn’t a huge holiday at our house, but throwing together a special treat sounded like a lot of fun.  

Everybody raves about the McDonald’s Shamrock Shake every March, but I don’t always want to drive to McDonald’s.  Honestly, I’m already there enough, as is! This copycat Shamrock shake is St. Patrick’s Day perfection!  Give it a try and let me know what you think.

Ingredients

  •  Base Ingredients
    •  48 oz Vanilla Ice Cream
    • 1 Cups Milk 
    • 1/2 Tsp Peppermint Extract
    • 20 drops Green Food Coloring
    • Whipped Cream 
    • Rainbow Candy
    • Green Sprinkles
  •  Boozie Ingredients
    • 1 Tablespoon Bailey’s
    • 1 Tablespoon Peppermint Schnapps
Easy St. Patrick's Day Treat

Recipe

Throw the vanilla ice cream, milk, peppermint extract, and food coloring into a blender.  Start with 1 C of milk.  Blend until smooth. Add more milk until desired consistency is reached.  

Top with whipped cream, rainbow candy, and/or green sprinkles. 

*To make your shake a little extra special, make your own peppermint-flavored whipped cream by mixing 1 Cup heavy whipping cream, 1/4 tsp peppermint extract, 1/2 tsp vanilla extract and 1/4 Cup powdered sugar in a stand mixer.  Chef’s kiss.  

Milkshake Tips & Tricks

  • Use the lowest setting on the blender rather than the fastest. 
  • Add milk slowly. 
  • Get creative with add-ins and toppings
