Hi guys!! Today is Wednesday. Easter is Sunday. It’s officially crunch time when it comes to Easter morning prep.
The Easter checklist I have created for myself includes:
What do I need at the grocery to make the dishes I need to make? (This year I am making corn pudding, sweet potato casserole, and these cute little crescent roll carrots I found on Pinterest)
What are we going to wear on Easter Sunday? (Is a potato sack acceptable attire for Easter Sunday? Could I find one on Amazon?)
Easter Egg hunt (Eggs + candy + a plan)
Easter Baskets (What have I already bought + what do I still need?
Okay, so that’s a lot. Very all over the place, but that’s how magical holiday memories are created, right?
Today, for this post, I am focusing on the last-minute Easter basket fillers. I am making it even easier because everything will ship FREE within 2 days with an Amazon Prime membership. I sort of feel like I am cheating because I am creating a (hopefully) helpful post for you, but also adding to my own cart.
*work smarter, not harder*
Last-Minute Easter Basket Fillers
CANDY
Okay, first let’s start with the obvious – CANDY!! There is no shortage of candy this time of year. Any convenient store, pharmacy, grocery store, and/or dollar store will have oodles and oodles of candy for you to choose from. There really isn’t a need to order candy from Amazon, however, if you already have a cart full…why not? Here are a few fun options:
Next up on my list of last-minute easter basket fillers is…
CHALK
CHALK!! We buy several of these boxes of chalk throughout the summer. However, you might be in the market for something a little smaller and/or a little more unique to make your Easter baskets a little bit more special. Fear not, I’ve got you with these…
BUBBLES! Honestly, I don’t like bubbles. They are messy, sticky, and almost always get poured out on accident. HOWEVER, kids love them, so I put my disdain for bubbles aside for special occasions.
BOOKS are another great Easter basket filler. If you happen to be stopping at Marshall’s or TJ Maxx definitely check out their books section. They usually have great deals on board books and other books for little ones. However, if that isn’t an option or you would just rather *add to cart* then check these out…
My kids go through CRAFT SUPPLIES super quick, which is what makes them perfect to sneak into Easter baskets. Crayons, markers, coloring books, scissors, etc.
Be sure to check out Kwik Stix and everything they have to offer!
CARD GAMES
There are several fun CARD GAMES you can play with just a deck of playing cards (have you ever heard of Pass The Trash or Up Down?).
Spring is SEEDS season. Seed packets make great Easter basket fillers. Unconventional? Perhaps. However, that doesn’t make it any less of a good idea! They are inexpensive, there are several different varieties, and it’s something the whole family can watch grow all summer long! A few fast-growing varieties includes:
WATER BEADS are similar to bubbles in that I have a love/hate relationship with them. Kids absolutely love them and they will no doubt keep your kids busy for a long time, however they always seem to make a mess and leave everything damp.
