I am so excited for today’s post. Today I am going to walk you through how to make a seed packet bouquet. It may sound a little silly, but the end result is adorable and the perfect gift for any gardening/flower/plant lover in your life.
My kids love YouTube video’s (so do I). One evening I was watching a video with my daughter. In that video the kids were making bouquet’s out of different things for their mom (candy, toys, stuffed animals, etc). Each of the bouquets they made were so cute!
That video inspired me to want to make a bouquet of some kind, which brings me to today’s post: Seed Packet Bouquets. This bouquet is the perfect gift for anyone in your life who loves gardening.
Seed Packet Bouquet Supplies
You will need the following supplies for this project:
Honestly, I think any gardener would love a bunch of seeds. However, it wouldn’t hurt to consider a few things before you get started:
Does your gardener prefer to grow organic?
What type of food does your gardener like to grow?
Flowers vs. Food
Growing zone
Like I said, I think any gardener would love a seed bouquet as a gift, so don’t stress if you aren’t sure what seeds to buy.
One thing to consider for “end-result aesthetics” is the color of the seed packets. That was one thing I wasn’t quiet prepared for when I put this seed bouquet together.
I love to purchase seeds from Johnny’s Seeds, but all of their seed packets are white. I was really wanting a variety of colors to more closely resemble a flower bouquet. I tossed in a few other seeds, just to add a little more color. So, try to buy an assortment of colors because it will make your end result that much more beautiful.
How To Make A Seed Packet Bouquet
Step 1:
Use invisible tape to attach the seed packets to the dowel rods.
Step 2:
Cut a large square of brown butcher paper and place at an angle. This will essentially be what holds the bouquet together.
Step 3:
Select a piece of tissue paper. Fold it in half and lay it across the middle of the butcher paper.
Step 4:
Select another piece of tissue paper and fluff it as you would if you were putting it inside a gift bag.
Lay that piece vertically.
Step 5:
Place 1 or 2 seed packets on the vertical piece of tissue paper.
Step 6:
Repeat steps 4 & 5 until all the seed packets have been placed.
The idea is to layer tissue paper and seed packets on top of each other so that all the seed packets can be seen.
Step 7:
Bring in the sides of the butcher paper to form your bouquet.
Step 8:
Adjust your seed packets and tissue paper to make sure everything is visible.
Step 9:
Use a pretty ribbon to tie a bow at the base of your bouquet.
