Mid-October is about the time I really get to thinking and planning for Christmas. I like to start with a list of everyone I want to buy a gift for. Getting all the names down on paper helps me feel prepared and less overwhelmed. I jot down a general budget for each person and a few gifts that come to mind to get things started .
I am always on the hunt for thoughtful gift ideas, which isn’t actually as difficult as it sounds. To me, thought gift giving is just really thinking about the receiver and what he/she would like. Thoughtful doesn’t have to be expensive, it doesn’t have to be homemade, it just has to be…thoughtful. Clear as mud? Well, here are a few more tips for thoughtful gift giving that may help clear things up a bit.
Tips For Gift Giving
Keep a running list of gift ideas in the notes on your phone. Anytime someone you usually buy a gift for mentions something, note it in your phone. Then, when Christmas or birthdays roll around you have a pretty good starting point.
There is no such thing as the perfect gift.
Think about the interests of the receiver.
Is there anything YOU have really enjoyed that the receiver might enjoy as well?
Consider items the receiver would never buy for him or herself (Think expensive, a high-end version of an everyday item he/she already uses, or perhaps an indulgent treat).
Be generous – either with money or with time. Time can be time spent with the receiver doing something or it could mean time spent making something for the receiver.
Hooray Heroes Personalized Books
When I think of a thoughtful gift, I think of something made especially for the receiver. What could be more thoughtful than a personalized book?
Allow me to introduce Hooray Heroes, a company specializing in personalized books for children!
Hooray Heroes is so much more than a company that provides children’s books (however, that is what they are most known for!). They also provide personalized puzzles, plush toys, personalized greeting cards, gift boxes, and free personalized printables.
Their most recent product launch is a personalized book for a kiddo and his or her special pet. Hooray Heroes was kind enough to send a book out to Wyatt and Reese and to say they were a hit is an understatement!! These personalized books would make amazing Christmas or birthday gifts for any little ones in your life. Your kiddo will get such a kick out of hearing stories with them as the main character.
We received The Pawesome Adventures of Wyatt and Penny and The Pawesome Adventures of Reese and Louise. My kids loved their books. They are on regular rotation for our bedtime stories! Thank you, Hooray Heroes, for being so generous!
Hooray Heroes Free Printables
Hooray Heroes also offers FREE printables on their website. You guys, these FREE printables are a hidden gem!! They offer such a wide variety and are SO CUTE!! There are sibling coloring books (which is what I printed out), love coupons, calendars, cards, etc. and all personalized!
You can find the printables here— highly recommend!!
I love this idea! It’s a great way to get kids interested in reading.
Yes! My kids love their books and ask to read them all the time. Thanks for stopping by, Charlotte!
