Welcome to what I am calling the Ultimate Guide to Winter Activities for Kids – the Evansville, IN edition. I suffer from cabin fever (to put it mildly) and I am already dreading this coming winter (I can hear my mom saying “don’t borrow trouble” as she is reads this). Everything is so dark and gray – ugh! I hate it! I can literally feel the walls closing in on me, the mess multiplies, the noise amplifies…okay, I’m being a bit dramatic, but I’m still not a fan. Now even though I am not a fan of winter, I am determined to not let it get the best of me! I thought if I came up with a game plan my winter-dreading-anxiety wouldn’t be quite so bad. Sooo, I put together a list of all there is to do around town and thought others might be interested too! I mean, I can’t be the only one who hates being stuck inside, can I?
My hope is to keep this as up-to-date as possible. If you notice something that isn’t included or a link that isn’t working, please let me know! You can comment below or send me a message. I’ll appreciate it SO MUCH and be sure to get it added ASAP! I want this to be a one-stop-shop for any Evansville parent looking for fun this winter!

I feel like I am really letting out a big secret by disclosing this, but Sky Zone offers Toddler Time on Friday/Saturday/Sunday mornings. Toddler time is for children under 5 years old. $12/child and no charge for adults. It is the BEST time to go if you have a toddler because there is hardly ever anyone there. Sky Zone Toddler Time schedule here.
Elite Air offers something similar on Thursdays and Saturdays. Elite Air schedule here.
Wesselman’s Third Thursdays
Wesselman’s offers a youth science program. You do have to register (which you can do here), but it is worth looking into if you have a lot of unscheduled Thursdays.
Winter Walk
Go on a walk through the woods. There is such a sense of calm and quiet during the winter.
If you want to amp it up a notch, go on a winter walk at night after it has snowed. So fun and your kids will love it!! Don’t forget your flashlights!
I hope you find this list helpful! Just because it is (or is going to be) cold and gross outside doesn’t mean we can’t get out and have some fun!
Please let me know if there is a winter activity your family loves that isn’t listed here – I’ll definitely get it added!!
