I am several posts into this blogging adventure (and loving it!), so I thought now would be a good time to let you in on a few things you might not otherwise know about me. A peek behind the curtain.
I wanted to make this fun, so I really tried to come up with things that you can’t find on social media.
Okay, let’s just get into it…
25 Fun Facts About Me
I graduated from Indiana University with a BA in Psychology & Sociology then went on to earn an MPA from the University of Southern Indiana. I wanted to find a way to help people, but never quite found my niche. Maybe this blog will help people? (fingers crossed).
2. My husband and I dated for 8 years before getting married. Talk about a LONG time.
3. I am an Enneagram Type 3. (check out more about the Enneagram here). I think it makes sense that I wanted to start a blog.
4. I have basically had the same friends since Kindergarten. When you know, you know!
5. I live in the house my grandparents built. My grandparents built this house when my mom was 2 years old. Grant and I bought it when my grandparents passed away and have slowly been making it our own. I have so many fun childhood memories in this house and I am excited that my kids will have fun memories in it as well. I’ll be sharing some of our renovation stories, current projects, and renovation tips in a few weeks.
6. I love gardening. I kept plants alive for the entire spring and summer, so now I am basically an expert (in my mind).
7. Tim Allen is oddly comforting to me. I’m not really sure what more can be said about this.
8. I open everything as soon as I get home from the grocery store and take a bite. Oreo’s, chips, grapes, etc. I don’t know why. Along that same vein, Grant describes my method of opening packages to that of a grizzly bear opening a bag of chips. I tend to just tear right into them.
9. I have a mouth full of sweet teeth. I love cookies, cakes, brownies, and any type of pastry. I should never (ever) be trusted alone in a house with fresh baked goods (or even stale ones).
10. I am not a huge fan of watching movies. I would much rather watch TV shows.
11. I think the Kardashian/Jenner’s are a bunch of boss babes. You don’t have to agree with me, but I don’t understand how you don’t.
12. I love to plan. I love lists. I love planning. I love pinning. (Check out my post about party planning if you haven’t already).
13. I love to put items in my online shopping cart, but rarely ever buy anything. Grant would lose his mind if he knew how much money I almost spend every day.
14. I have perfected the “clean on commercials” method. A tradition passed down from my mom. It is VERY efficient. I can get caught up on my TV shows AND clean the entire house at the same time. Check and check.
15. I hate checking the mail. Hate it. We usually have 2-3 weeks of mail piled up at any given time.
16. I love going to the doctor. I love, love, love having the doctor tell me I am fine. (16.5. I am also a slight hypochondriac).
17. I am easily addicted to new hobbies. Most are household chores turned hobbies, such as gardening, painting, organizing, tree trimming, baking, essential oils, interior decorating, etc.
18. I peaked in high school. I was homecoming queen and was voted “most attractive attributes.” It’s been down-hill ever since.
19. I have been described as “naturally awkward.” Some have said it’s part of my charm while others have said it’s, well…awkward. Either way, it is what it is, and I am what I am.
20. New projects get me hype. You know what new projects mean?! Planning!!!
21. I almost always leave 1-2 seconds on the microwave. It drives Grant crazy, but I have a real fear that if I don’t get my food out a few seconds before the timer goes off that it will be too hot.
22. I am a pioneer at heart. I want bees. I want chickens. I want a big garden. The only things holding me back are poison ivy and mosquitoes.
23. I make wonderful chocolate chip cookies. (Pats self on back).
24. I rarely wear shoes outside. It is probably why I have Fred Flintstone feet as an adult.
25. I am very good at coloring. Legendary, in fact. My kindergarten friends talk about it to this day.
I remember as a child you could never spend the night at anybody’s house your mother would have to come and scoop you up and take you home.
Yes!! Dirty Dancing was on the other day and I thought of you. The first time I watched it was at your house!
